FAQs

What is Marlo?+
Marlo is your access key to premium experiences, from dining and events to flights and stays. You apply to campaigns in the app, attend like any guest, tap your Marlo Card to cover the value, and publish content in your own style. No pitching, no negotiating, no chasing brands.
How do I join?+
Applications are taken through the Marlo app, not the website. Download it, submit your application, and you'll join a curated, vetted network of creators. Approval is selective, based on quality, engagement, and brand fit, not follower count alone.
Does it cost me anything?+
Nothing. You access the experience and the value is covered through your Marlo Card.
What is the Marlo Card and how does it work?+
It's a Mastercard issued in your name. You attend, order like any guest, and tap to pay. The value is covered on the spot. No vouchers, no codes, no awkward conversations at the till.
Is the Marlo Card real money I can spend anywhere?+
No. The card only works for the campaign you've been approved for, at the approved partner, for the approved value. There's no balance to draw down, and no cash withdrawal.
What do I have to do in return?+
Show up and do what you do best. Deliver content within 48 hours, matching the brief you applied to. The creators who deliver are the ones who keep getting approved, so treat every campaign as the reason you get the next one.
Do I have to follow a script or shoot a certain way?+
No. Order what you want and shoot in your own style. You're chosen for your voice and fit, not to turn you into an ad read. Some campaigns, like venue promos, ask you to feature specific details (a product name, price, or available dates). When they do, it's spelled out in the brief before you apply.
When can I visit?+
When you apply for a campaign, you also select an approximate time you can attend, within the days and windows the venue has made available. The venue approves both you and your time, so once you're in, you're aligned.
What hashtags and tags do I need to include?+
Every piece of campaign content must include #ad and #marlo, plus the partner tag. The campaign brief may specify up to two additional hashtags. Maximum of four hashtags total.
Why do I need to use #ad?+
Because your content is part of a commercial campaign, and disclosing that is a legal requirement under Australian advertising rules. It keeps you transparent with your audience and protects you and the partner alike.
How are creators selected for a campaign?+
You apply, and the partner approves. They review your profile against their campaign for quality, engagement, and brand alignment. Approval isn't guaranteed. That's what keeps the network curated.
What kinds of experiences are available?+
Today it's primarily premium dining and venue experiences. That's Marlo Pay, the Mastercard layer at the core of everything, and because it runs on Mastercard it reaches as far as Mastercard does. Expect Pay to expand fast into the places our creators already love: beauty and aesthetic clinics, hair salons, pilates and wellness studios, designer retail. Marlo Pass and Marlo Passport follow from there.
Who owns the content I create?+
You create it, and the partner licenses it for their use through the campaign. Specific licensing terms are set out in the Creator Terms of Service you agree to at onboarding.
Is my information secure, and why do I need to provide ID?+
Marlo operates in a regulated financial environment. The card is issued in your name for KYC and AML compliance, standard for any card product. Your ID verification exists for that purpose.
What happens if I don't deliver the content?+
You've entered an agreement when you apply to a campaign. Failure to deliver agreed content is a breach of the Creator Terms of Service and can affect your standing, including future access. Specific consequences are set out in those terms.
